Bring on the Holidays!

Sorry for the mini unexplained hiatus, but as usual, school has been kicking my butt. I have an assignment almost every week, so I have to be on the ball all the time. I've been so busy in fact, that I no longer have a social life. I'm either in school, at home or at work. Boo. I cannot wait until Easter Break.

But to tide you all over til then, here's two pictures.

Long sleeved black top, Quick Brown Fox dress, Urban Outfitters striped tights, thrifted brown shoes

B&G white shirt (from Urban Outfitters), thrifted shorts (I love how they look like a skirt), Tina Kalivas for Target jacket (thrifted), black leggings, Payless black patent flats

3 more papers to go before my holiday!

Why do I blog?

a) Because somehow I prescribe to the school of 'sharing is caring' and this unconscious narcissism that lies within me enjoys 'showing and telling' my ongoing foray into the world of style and fashion?

b) Because my passion for writing which began in a Hello Kitty journal at age 6 got with the times and transferred virtually instead?

c) Because Chaz is too busy at the moment?

A sombre Monday
Vest: Thrifted, Dress: Sportsgirl (thrifted), Shoes: Some shop in Singapore - Far East Plaza, maybe?

Bohemian Tuesday
Dress: Dangerfield, Tank top: Bonds, Jeans: Topshop, Shoes: as above

I was talking to a 7 year old girl today about Slumdog Millionaire and she surprised me by astutely mentioning that in the end the movie was still a sad one, because regardless of the ending, the cycle of poverty continues. She said that for every single happy ending that happens, there are about a billion other endings that remain in the same futile state of stagnation. Well, maybe she didn't quite use those words, so much so as, "Jamal and Latika are happy, but what about others?"

I underestimate too often the depth of observation a child possesses. My mistake indeed.

Reasons for my sad teary smiley

1. I just finished Friday Night Lights season 3 and oh gosh, what a tearjerker! I am both happy because of the pitch perfect ending and sad because it might not come back for another season. I'm also conflicted because I don't know if I want it to come back. With all the major characters leaving for college, I don't see how the show can continue it's magical run. That being said, I want more Coach Taylor and Saracen and Riggins and oh gosh.. I could go on and on.

Chaz is right. I need to get out more.

March 20
Cardi: Topshop, 'I Love Sleeping' Shirt: Genki - Melbourne, Skirt: Bugis Village - Singapore, Shoes: Some shop in Singapore.

2. Over the weekend, a friend and I opened a booth at one of the bazaars and I have to say, while the experience was fun, it sure was exhausting. Think 10 hour days back to back dealing with Asians who don't share my fondness for thrifting or pre-loved wear (they're like, "COOTIES!!!!").

Bazaars are so exhausting
thank goodness for adorable puppies

Flea Market Madness
Tank top: Bonds, Dress: Sportsgirl, Thongs: Carrefour

Hence, I am le tired.

3. Once again, I forgot the password to my online banking account. This makes it the fourth time I've had to repeat the process of applying for online banking. I would write it down but I think I did already and I have no clue where I might have did it. I am a big, gigantic, humongous Rrrrr-tard.

4. I enjoy calling the whaaambulance on myself.

Would it be unbearably lame to "Oh, snap!" myself?

No longer MIA

Back from a short sojourn to Phuket, where I practically lounged around in shorts, bathers and a singlet for the entire duration of the trip, I have been on a mad Friday Night Lights Season 3 marathon which I'm claiming is the reason for the pseudo-plaid-Western shirt and jeans get up. Well, that and the in-build comfort of the shirt.

I'm sure you could insert a correlation between the growing significance of fashion and TV series here and how they meld together and affect each other's reality. Take Gossip Girl for example. Blair's headbands and preppy style have crossed over into the wardrobes and inspired many viewers. And let's not even get started on what some will say is the pioneer of the fashion/TV conundrum - Sex and the City. At the moment I'm far too obsessed with the lives of the good folks of Dillion, Texas to string a introspective sentence or two.

I cannot begin to describe how much I'm in love with FNL - the characters, the stories, how it pulls at my heartstrings every single damn episode and the phrase; "full eyes, clear hearts, can't lose". I might or might not also be currently speaking (to myself) with a Texan twang. I ain't goin' to be sharing that with y'all.

SSDD - Same shirt, different day.
Shirt: Thrifted, Jeans: Topshop, Belt: Stolen from Mum's.

I'll be back to regular posting after Coach Taylor and co. have wrung out every last tear and shredded my emotions. If you don't watch FNL, I cannot tell you enough what a treat you've got ahead of you. Give it a shot and with clear eyes and full hearts, really, you can't lose. That phrase made no sense but damn it's still pretty stellar.

March Madness

While others typically find the first couple of weeks of collage relaxing, I'm usually busier, as I'm actually attending lectures and keeping up with work and my readings. Not only is this year worse as I'm overloading, I'm also needing to pull up my grades. Blah.

That's basically why I've been lazy with updates. That and the fact that the university wireless doesn't let me upload pictures, so I can only do it at home, which right now, I'm rarely at. Anyways, enough with my whining, on towards the pictures.

Thrifted jersey shirt, thrifted shorts, American Apparel leggings, Payless flats, Black&White [or White&Black] jacket

DKNY grey top, thrifted shorts, purple tights, bow-tie [a gift from Kaz], Docs

Urban Outfitters dress, thrifted trench, AA leggings, Docs

I'm also debating if I should to a travel guide-esq thing for DC, and (maybe) NYC. Thoughts?
